Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how meet.it (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use the meet.it iPhone app, including beta versions distributed through Apple TestFlight, and the website meetitapp.com. We keep it short and specific to what the app actually does.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Meet IT, MB, Kazio Ulvydo g. 7-102, Vilnius, Lithuania, company code 307483483.
Contact for any privacy question: hello@meetitapp.com.
2. Data we collect
Account data. Your email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and, where available, profile photo from that provider. Apple may give us a private relay email instead of your real address.
Profile data you choose to add. Name, username, profile photo, bio, city or location text, birthday and time zone.
Content you create. Events (title, date, time, place, description, cover images), RSVPs and attendance, comments, likes and reactions, direct and group messages, groups, to-dos and reminders. If you add birthdays for other people, please only add information they would be comfortable with.
Connections. The people you connect with in the app and requests to join events.
Calendar data (only with your permission). If you choose to import events, the app reads events from your iPhone calendar or, if you connect it, your Google Calendar (read-only access). Events you import are saved to your meet.it account. We never change or delete anything in your calendars.
Voice input (only with your permission). When you describe an event by voice, Apple’s speech recognition turns your speech into text. We receive the text, not the audio recording.
AI assistant. Messages you send to the in-app AI assistant (typed or dictated) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to understand event details such as the date, time and place, and the reply is returned to you. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this data is not used to train its models.
Photos and camera (only with your permission). Used only when you pick or take a photo for your profile or an event cover. Only the photos you choose are uploaded.
Notifications and device data. If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can send you reminders and updates. We also store activity indicators calculated from your use of the app (for example, how often you take part in events) to power in-app features.
Beta feedback. If you send feedback or crash reports through TestFlight, Apple shares them with us, including any screenshot and comment you add and basic device information.
What we do not do: we do not show ads, sell your data, track you across other apps or websites, or collect your precise GPS location or your phone contacts.
3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
- To provide the app: your account, profile, events, connections, messages and reminders. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Optional features: calendar import, voice input, camera and photos, and notifications. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your iPhone Settings (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- To keep the service secure and improve it during the beta: fixing bugs and reviewing feedback. Legal basis: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. Who can see your data
Other meet.it users see what the app is designed to show them, for example your profile, the events you create or join, and messages you send them.
Service providers who process data on our behalf, only to run the app:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, file storage and server functions
- Anthropic: the AI assistant
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, speech recognition, notifications and TestFlight
- Google: Google sign-in, Google Calendar import, and notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- Hostinger: hosting of meetitapp.com
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. This deletes your account and the data linked to it. Copies may remain in backups for a limited period until they are overwritten.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to receive a copy of your data (portability), and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@meetitapp.com.
You can also file a complaint with the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, vdai.lrv.lt) or the data protection authority in your country.
8. Children
meet.it is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to stored data is restricted so that users can only access what they are permitted to see.
10. The website
When you visit meetitapp.com, our hosting provider processes standard technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver and protect the site.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
